Processing of the produced primary and secondary sludge during sewage treatment is demanding requires considerable resources. Most common practices suggest cotreatment starting with thickening anaerobic digestion. The aim this study to investigate digestion only estimate its impact on energy recovery. Within context, performance explored focused further enhance methane production by using additives, e.g., a cationic polyelectrolyte attapulgite. results showed that overall yield in alone was higher than obtained mixed (up 40%), while addition both organic attapulgite enhanced 170%). Attapulgite increased hydrolysis rate biosolids relatively stabilized digestate, though lower dewaterability. Moreover, single may accomplish capacities at digestors’ volume increasing their efficiency productivity, digestates are adequate quality for utilization mainly agricultural or sectors.
